The morning sun shone through the window onto the wooden wall art in the living room. The artwork took on a different appearance than usual, catching my attention. Partial illumination revealed a new narrative, distinct from the overall story the art usually conveyed. Additionally, the shallow angle of the light highlighted the textures of the carved wood, making the contours stand out even more. This brief event lasted about ten minutes in the morning. While museums often offer art in fixed lighting, being able to view art in various lights might be one of the joys of experiencing artwork at home.

リビングに飾っている木彫りの壁絵に向かって、窓から朝日が差し込んだ。普段とは違う見え方にハッとなった。部分的に照らされることで、このアートが語る全体のストーリーとは別の角度で読む、新しい物語が生まれたような気がしたからだ。また、浅い角度で差し込んだ光が、彫りこんだ木板の凹凸を強調して、輪郭を一段と浮かびあがらせる。朝の10分くらいの出来事だった。美術館では決まった光で見ることがほとんどだが、色々な光で見ることができるのは、自宅でのアートの楽しみ方なのかもしれない
