Chijmes

Chijmes used to be a monastery a long time ago in Singapore's history. Now, it has become a cheerful place with shops and things to do. In the middle, there's a chapel designed in the classical Gothic style, with beautifully restored features like terrazzo floors and stained glass windows. They carefully highlighted the unique columns and pointed arches that are typical of this Anglo-French architectural style. At night, they made the stained glass, which can't be seen well, light up from inside the chapel to make it stand out. The roof's cross and decorations become silhouettes in the sky. It's mostly lively at night, and people who visit enjoy eating and drinking while feeling the old colonial culture.
